Workforce Readiness

Youth Vibe academy

Part of BGCCM’s Workforce Readiness initiatives, YouthVIBE Academy empowers youth ages 13–18 with the essential life and professional skills needed to thrive in school, work, and life. Through hands-on training, mentorship from community leaders, and engagement with industry professionals, participants build confidence, creativity, resilience, and leadership.

From June 2024 to July 2025, YouthVIBE Academy proudly graduated 35 students, each earning a Customer Service Certification through the Goodwill Foundation and a ServSafe certification. Participants were compensated for their time and efforts during the program, and 80% secured employment following graduation—demonstrating the program’s powerful impact on preparing young people for successful futures.

BGCCM Junior Staff

Each summer, BGCCM offers paid employment opportunities for teen Club members through the Junior Staff program. Teens gain valuable on-the-job experience by working alongside Club professionals, helping lead activities, assisting younger members, and supporting daily operations.

Throughout the program, participants develop important interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a sense of responsibility. They also build confidence, practice time management, and grow their understanding of community involvement and workplace readiness.

Career Launch

CareerLaunch helps BGCCM teens take the first steps toward a successful future by preparing them for the workforce. Designed for members ages 13 to 18, the program guides teens in identifying their strengths and interests, exploring career options, and making informed decisions about education and employment.

Through one-on-one coaching and small group sessions led by staff and volunteers, teens learn essential job readiness skills like resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace professionalism. The CareerLaunch platform also offers interactive tools for career exploration, college planning, and job searches. Additional opportunities such as mentoring, job shadowing, and hands-on training help teens build confidence and real-world experience.
